GA Drought (Pics)
VP, I'm in Atlanta which is the hardest hit but the entire state has been placed under "state of emergency".
The top 1/3 is worst hit but rest of state is WAYYY below normal ... Macon included from what I've read.
Edit: Forgot to answer your question .. Those pics I posted are of Lake Allatoona which is very very close to Kennesaw (5 miles to be exact).
Yeah, Lanier is one of the biggest sources of water for the state and also one of the hardest hit .. see before and after pics in the following video at around the 15 second mark:

On a final note I know you guys already give me a hard time for long posts. So I did not post 1/10 of what I sent to the governor's suggestion box but I did address the issue of environmental impact on Georgia's coast and also doing research into federal and state funds which were allocated for reservoirs that would be constructed in the state of Georgia. Also looked at a chart showing Georgia steady increase in population, versus the reservoirs capacity to handle the states water needs taking into account not only an increase in population, but the increase of industrial use of water for the state. Made several recommendations as to the comparison of a desalinization plant constructed in the Middle East and its capabilities, versus George's needs over the next two decades in an effort to compare the reservoir use versus desalinization use. I don't think the state should depend on mother nature or the federal government to secure its needs. I think all County should be responsible for hooking into a state water pipeline
I pee outside on the grass if I'm downstairs and have to go. That way I don't have to flush a toilet. Just doing my part (Not really I've always urinated outside because it's so comfortable and easy. No aiming required. Just open and fire wherever you want).
What would be funny and overly expensive but a great way to say FU to the government is to find private or non Federal land at the Hooch. Then build a tunnel or some sort of water transport system from the Chattahoochee to a privately or Georgia owned tributary that feeds lake Lanier and suck the living crap out of the water going down the river and put it back in the lake. Man I bet that would **** Alabama and Florida off to no end. Because if we did pull it off there is nothing they can do. The Army Corps of Engineers controls the Dam and the land surrounding Lake Lanier(You don't buy land on Lanier you sign a 99year lease). They don't control the water or the land that isn't federal. There would be nothing they could do except release the dam faster. But the problem there is you'd have uncontrolled and dangerous flooding that would harm trout and other wildlife if they did so. Then we'd have an argument to save the trout and our own animal to protect.
I think the City of Roswell has City owned land that butts up to the Hooch.

Guess it must be all that global warming caused by we uncaring humans driving our H2s. Oh wait, the same thing happened back in '33...
