Foxy trashed it.....

RE: Foxy trashed it...........
Alright, here's how my day went.
I've never talked to any one person at the insurance company more than once. Today, I've talked to 11 different people throughout the day. The first 5 people were utterly USELESS. They didn't know crap, they didn't know what was covered, and kept telling ME that it was MY problem that the bike was in a tow yard and that I needed to make arrangements to get it out as soon as possible. I didn't cause the accident, why the hell should I have to make all the arrangements?
So, a few phone calls later, and a few people later, I started to get some actual real answers. I faxed the police report (which I didn't have to do) to my side of the insurance. The first person I actually talked to that knew what to do was a lady called Michelle. She actually gave me straight answers and told me that she already received my police report and was already processing it into my claim. Sweet.
So, the day progresses, and I have my bike towed to the local dealer in town (the one I HATE). But, since they're an extremely expensive dealer, I figured the higher priced estimate would come from them (being their shop rates are an EXTREMELY HIGH $110/hour for labor. Thieves.
So then, my last couple of phone calls were actually from the other guys side of the insurance (the guy that caused the accident). Since the police report has already been processed, they admitted FULL RESPONSIBILITY for the crash, and the kindness level shot up 10 fold. I asked about my gear, they said ALL OF IT was covered and would be replaced. I told them the motorcycle was my only form of transportation, they made a rental car reservation for tomorrow, and for the duration of my claim.
So needless to say, I was horribly pissed off and figured my insurance company to be utterly USELESS at the beginning of the day.
Now, being the end of the day, and speaking to 11 different people, am I quite satisfied that the last 5 people actually wanted to help me out instead of just being a call center person. After speaking with the last person, I'm incredibly impressed with State Farm so far. Even being the Holiday's and Christmas being less than 4 days away, they're still trying to get an adjuster to my dealer as soon as possible.
The only thing now is that I need the dealer (which I HATE, did I mention that?) to complete their evaluation of my bike, and whether or not to claim it a total loss or fixable. The last 5 people also told me that the dealer making the estimate is NOT the dealer I have to get it fixed at. So, they will NOT be touching my bike if it does need to be fixed, and I will be taking it back to my dealer, which is 80 miles east.

After the way you have been talking about state farm blue I actually called them to day and got a quote. which I was amazed how much lower they are then the ones I talked to before and the one that I have now. So it looks like I will be switching after the new year.

Initially (before they got the police report) I wanted nothing to do with them, and wanted a different insurance company.
When they finally did get the police report, they were as helpful and as courteous as possible. I'm very satisfied so far (I just hope that it keeps playing out this way, and continues getting better)
And yeah, I pay considerably less for insurance than most. $79/month for full coverage. Beats the hell out of Gieco and Progressive's rates. They waned over $5,000/year. I laughed and hung up the phone.

So, can I have your Rizoma turn signals? j/k
Well, that whole situations sucks hard, but at least you got off without being injured.Hopefully they'll be able to get it all squared away easily and quickly. If you plan on turning it into a track bike, or even if they don't total it out, make sure the dealer checks the forks out since theytook a big hit.
The same thing happened to me (in my car) last year. I was coming up the road and some idiot let someone through and I t-boned them pretty hard. The person who let them through just drove off too, so never got them for that one.

Glad to hear it's progressing and State Farm is cooperating for ya I have State Farm for my car and bike ins too.... $33 bux a month for full coverage inc uninsured and med, $500 ded.... can't beat it! Never had to file a claim with them, but we'll see. Progressive was VERY good to me when I got rear ended back in March (the guy that hit me had Progressive). I didn't even have to call them, they called me first thing the next morning after the accident (which happened at 11:00 pm the night before) and were extremely polite and more than helpful. Offered to have the bike towed to the dealer, though I opted to take it there myself, and offered a rental car and everything. After it was all fixed they called me back again to make sure I was happy with the repairs and everything. No complaints there!
Hopefull they can get it all taken care of soon... keep us updated!
