Default finally got a CBR

it took me a while, but i finally found something i could afford, a 2002 CBR600 F4i. I got it for $2800 (15k mi), but it still needs some work...but overall, it's a pretty clean bike. at last, i can sell my 2006 ninja 250. compared to my ninja, god this bike feels amazing...faster acceleration and awesome dual-disc braking...but at times, the tank gets all up in my crotch.

so I think all i needz is some fairings, exhaust, and a paint job. I'm not sure though, i kinda like the paint...and i like how it looks without the fairings. I'm just not sure if it's safe to go without fairings.

Oh...i was cleaning the chain today, and i noticed that it's also missing that middle kick-stand that lifts the rear off the ground. weird.

I paid almost a grand more for mine, with 5 thousand miles more. But I guess after new fairings and paint it would end up being about the same, I also got mine from a dealer and it has work done.

Yeah, you can either get fairings or go naked. The fairings don't have anything to do with safety, they're mainly for aerodynamics. As far as that second kickstand, the F4i model doesn't come with it. $2800 w/ 15K is a sweet deal ~ congratulations

Welcome aboard,

the middle kickstand isnt missing, it was never there. You wont find those on true sportbikes. They are found on ninja 250's and 500's, and a handful of sport touring bikes. You will have to buy a rear race stand and add some swing arm spools. they have stands that just grab the rear swing arm to lift it, but I prefer the stands that utilize the spools.

I would install the fairings. it really wont hurt to have the bike without them, but I think it looks incomplete without them. But I agree, I kinda like the flat look to the bike.

yeah. i wasn't even aware i was hitting over 95+ mi/hr on the freeway; i kept on thinking the speedometer must be broken or something. it's hard to resist the throttle. too much sexy.

I would add the fairing and paint it to match the rest of the bike. I like it like that personally. 2800 is a steal. I paid 4,000 for mine with 16,000 miles on it w/ a bunch of goodies
