RE: F YOU INSURANCE!
^^ Yeah..i would have loved to have full coverage when i wrecked last year. maybe a little medical insurance woulda been nice to. as i have to do yet another surgery due to the wreck in november. And i dont want to switch my car to another company. I only have to pay close to $70 a month for my charger. anyone else would rape me on it.

^ Dont necessarily think that JD, make some calls. I use state farm also and even my trucks (still have a high book value) dont cost all that much. Plus then you get a multi car discount, if you do renters or homeowners thru them then you get more discounts. Wife and i pay $185 a month for renters, 954, 2 dodge trucks, camaro, grand prix, all fully covered. Plus when winter comes i only pay like $13 a month for bike and camaro while they are stored.

Very bad advice to give to an 18 year old. What happens if he damages someone elses property. It costs to be the boss. I had high rates when I was younger too. It all boils down to how bad you wanna ride. You really need insurance tho man. Thats the smart, grown up approach. (No offense Gville)

I probably should not get into this...
but, i don't believe in insurance on toys (most of our bikes are toys, unless you have no other daily ride that you can use if something happens)
I also don't believe in financing toys. save up, pay cash, kick your self if something happens and worry about health insurance instead.
insurance companies are for profit organizations, meaning they have done the math, its like betting against the house at a casino, in the long run, their profit comes from your pockets.
I know i am going to get flamed for this, but seriously, if you can afford payments, you can save up, an 03 600rr is not that expensive if you buy private. from a stealer ship is a different story, but that is another argument.

oh, and i think it needs to be said again, worry about health insurance instead!
you bills are less with health insurance, even when you are paying in full (pre-deductable) the reason is that big health insurance companies get discounts of sorts. the only problem is that it is also very pricey.

What the hell..I find out i can afford this nice 2003 600RR that I like..But the F***ers at the insurance think its fun to charge me 278.00 a month for insurance..THATS MORE THEN THE BIKE PAYMENT. They can go screw themselves.

dude................JD, do NOT be scared to switch your car insurance. i have so many lines of insurance through statefarm, and they give you a discount for having multiple lines of insurance w/ them and staying loyal to them. hell, so maybe it will cost more to insure the car, but add the motorcycle, and life insurance (you SERIOUSLY should have this, should ALREADY have this) and the price all together could be significantly lower. i have A) renters insurance, B) hospitalization (take it from me, its WELL worth having and in your shoes it is worth having, talk to them about it!), C) car insurance, D) bike insurance.
having all those w/ the same co. saves me some money. while you are pricing out your bike insurance i strongly suggest the asking about the life insurance and hospitalization.
