Default Drove A Harley

Well, I went home this weekend to change my bikes oil and a few other little things, and ended up going for a ride on Saturday with my uncle. He has a 87 Soft Tail, bored out, and for the most part pretty stock. We switched bikes on the way back, and I had some fun on his bike. Turned easy, smooth ride, and very comfortable. Obviously it didn't have the power and agility I like in a bike, but I could see myself getting one as a second bike some day. My uncle had a blast on mine as well. He had it up to 110 and he didn't even realize it!

Just curious who else has actually rode a Harley on here. A lot of trash talk about them, but who has actually given them the time of day?

Never ridden a harley but I've ridden other cruisers. Very comfortable bikes and easy to handle.. I'd look here before buying a harley though.. I mean, come on!

^I'm not saying I would ever get rid of my CBR. I'm just saying I could see myself getting one when I am older for commuting to work possibly. That's why I said as a SECOND bike.

Never ridden a harley, but I'm planning on doing so myself. I'm thinking about an 883 or 1200 sportster for my next bike, mainly for a backup/leisure bike.

I must admit, I would like to ride one. I would also like to ride a scooter (even though I don't wave at them).

I would not be so hard on Harleys, but the attitude I get from the guys/girls that ride them, make them an easy mark for me. No offense to your Uncle by the way. Here Harleys are expensive & those that buy them are 'Buying the lifestyle' as well. Whatever a persons rides is their business & I respect that but I expect the same in return. One on one, a Harley owner is a decent sort of person (mainly) two or more are Dicks. I've had problems with these types for years, but if I had just spend a great deal of money buying one & probably a great amount more putting on the 'extras' & then got rounded up on the esses by a guy on 500cc twin Jap bike, I'd probably feel peeved as well.
