Yeah, the bikes are pretty high priced for what you get (frame, engine, tranny, plastic, lights and a couple tires). Seems like they should be priced much lower, then I think of all the older squids buying the Harleys (some reaching $22,000).......then I don't worry about the $8000 I paid for mine.

What I can't believe is the cost of aftermarket parts. I mean, come on. A steel-tube fender eliminator is $150 bucks. $150 bucks for some steel tubing, weld and a freaking LED light bulb! Cost to make is most likely under $5 bucks. I don't know about you, but that's a rip off any way you look at it. But they can get away with selling it at that price because you get people comforting themselves by saying things like "it's high quality" or "the fit is perfect".........(and also the squids buying every aftermarket part possible, wanting to look their best for the daily cruise to Starbucks (my favorite hangout, lol.)

I compare it to Hollister. Jeans that look like my 3-year-old, ripped up blue jeans that have stains and paint streaks on them, are going for $90, and people gobble them up for the "brand" because they think they're "high quality".

But, that's life. Prices won't go down until people stop buying them at that high of a price......but that's something not even worth thinking about, because it'll never happen.
