Default Dealer markup?

On average how much does a Honda dealer make on a bike like a CBR1000RR if they sell it at Honda's list price? Does the dealer pay for delivery of the motorcycle from Honda to the shop?

I am trying to figure out why the Honda shop in my area is charging a 1000 Dollar markup plus some additional charges at the time of sale.

more than likely because they can.
Southernhonda.com is the cheapest you will see a bike sold, that is a good gauge on the dealers margin. You know they are still making a profit, but it shows the gap between full retail and what it actually can be sold for. They are in chattanooga TN.

I used my quote from southern and my dealer matched. Saved me a lot on gas.

Yea it truly is because they can charge that...

I went back a few days ago to find they have a 1000rr "on sale" they dropped the price by $1000 at least now it is the same price as Honda's list price.

It looks like I am going to mail order myself a motorcycle..

Unfortunately I don't have ~8 days of leave needed to fly down and ride it home.
