Is there still a working Ithaca Arms factory in that town?

As often happens in these cases, a lot of people are now pointing fingers at each other about who is responsible for cleaning it up.

The factory shut down about 20 years ago, and now it's a Superfund site. Not surprisingly, 100 years as a gun factory left a lot of lead and other metals in the soil.

Damn, that's a bummer. Soulda figured that the place was shut down, just wasn't sure if it was still around. It's amazing how so many historical propertys are more of a burden in this day and age that they are looked up to for their service. Suppose it's prettyhard to make an appartment complex out of a place that has more lead than the paint booths of China.
