Come on man!
This is another case of wondering why we don't have center-stands on more US bikes. A lot of the european models have them. A bike is a lot less prone to tipping on a center stand.
Still wouldn't cure the drunk guy with nothing better to do scenario, but is a thought.
Alarm would go off, but as mentioned before - wouldn't have kept it from being knocked over if done maliciously.

Alarm won't stop malicious people. Hell someone could climb / break open the gate on the driveway and kick over Ororo if they wanted.
Alarm does stop most people from throwing a leg over / sitting on her tho. Alarms are deterrents, not preventatives. Only way to prevent malicious is to lock her in a vault.

why the hell would you keep it out in the open on a COLLEGE CAMPUS??! C'mon son!...alarm wouldn't have done ****. all it would have done was make them run away faster and laugh harder at the fact that your alarm is screaming while the bike is on the ground. karma's a bitch....it'll catch up to those douchebags..
on a lighter note.. now you have an excuse for getting rid of those ugly stock turn signals!!

The point I think is, he should be able to park it out in the open. We've all had to sooner or later. You are right about alarms though, they may stop theft but vandalism is way to fast to prevent.
Those 1%'ers really can annoy the rest of the world, though. And, "That's a fact!"
Sorry, it happened to ya, man. Just have faith, that most of the world is out-raged with you.
Definitely get a cover for it if you're keeping it outside on campus and can't afford an alarm system. Those shiny colors won't attract stupid drunks to it or anything and most people will just ignore it.

Been there too man. When I had my bike at school I walked over to it one morning to find it on it's side with the cover draped over half of it. Broken turn signal, cracked tail fairing and broke off a peice of the main side fairing. I found out that 4 other guys in our school motorcycle club had their bikes knocked over the night before as well. Probably some drunken group just went around knocking over every bike around. Also had two friends have their bikes knocked over on campus while they were in an evening class.
I used to park the bike in a small space at the end of the row that cars couldn't fit into. After it was knocked over I started parking it sideways in front of the space where I parked my car (so the bike would be between the curb and my front bumper).

Some people are just douchebags and think something like that is funny at the time and dont think about the damage and costs that people are gonna incur from their actions. Thats the bottom line they just dont think.
Thats why im afraid to bring my bike to school. Luckily we have like 5 or 6 parking garages on campus that id keep it in. Obviously it can still happen in there but drunk aholes dont go running through them at night, only people that parked in them are in them so its not just out in the open for anyone to mess with. I think its a little bit safer than on the street or in a driveway/parking lot at least. And all of the people that ride to class park them in this tiny lot right across from the quad next to a booth with a security guard and theres always tons of people right across the street. Obviously something can still happen to it but i feel a little more at ease with those deterrents.
