College?
ORIGINAL: thisismyacct
I've just been thinking about everything a lot lately and I really don't know what I want in life. I have no idea what I'm even doing in college.. it doesn't feel like I'm working toward anything.. I'm just postponing my life. I'm thinking of putting college on hold for a while and moving somewhere far away just to get a grip on life. I dunno.. If I do decide to do this I don't even know where to start. I'm selling my car so I'd have plenty of money to get settled in somewhere else (I dunno I figured I'd just foot the bills for the first month in a new place) I just don't feel right where I'm at right now.. and this IS my 3rd college.

College is not just for bettering yourself economically (albeit that*s also a byproduct) but also to help fill that awkward void between youth and adulthood and to help along that process. Keeping your brain fully active during that period by questioning and reasoning things in a higher education environment pays big dividends towards how active and responsive your brain is in the future. If you just go for a degree to help get a better salary or if you just go because your parents are making you, you*re wasting your time and are better off taking a little time off and going back when you*ve got your mindset right but if you go with the main motivation to learn then it will all come together later on when you reach the courses that are in your field of interest and you become more engaged. Just my .02 but if you choose to put it on hold as you put it, don*t put it off too long because the longer you put it off the more difficult it is to get your mindset back into the proper learning mode and the easier it becomes to just keep postponing it indefinitely. <= I say that last part from real world experience.
