Im looking into getting a .40 sig 226 or glock 22. Just wondering what any cbrf members have. Anyone carry when they ride? Feel free to post pics or suggestions

I carry a 9mm Sub compact H&K USP. Love everything about it.

for my car I am thinking about getting a glock .40 and I've toyed with the idea of getting a 380 for carry as well.

Love the gun. Thats a picture of the .45 version but it looks the same.

I also have a Remmington Magnum 12g shotgun for home defense and a 270 for hunting my deerz

Im a gun nut too. I have a Sig 225 in 9mm that ive had for a couple years. Never once has hiccuped or failed me. I think Sig makes great guns.

Youre going to have to decide if you want a striker fire gun (glock) or gun with a hammer (sig). I love having a decocker and having the availability to have my first round either DA or SA. The glock wont offer that. I personally like carrying my Sig with one in the chamber and the hammer decocked much better than carrying a glock with one in the chamber.

Plenty of people swear by glocks and they are great guns. They have just never felt all that right in my hand. I thought my Sig fit me perfectly until I picked up a Rock Island Compact 1911 a month ago.

Go to a gun shop and handle both of them. If they have a range and rental guns, shoot both and see what you like best.

yeah none of them do but theres a pistol range nearby that i might go check out first and see if i can fire either. I hear nothing but good things about glocks im just not a big fan of their looks. I mean thats probably that last thing id consider when buying one but its still something id take into account

I carry a G27. Sub-compact .40 cal. I have the pinky extender on the bottom of the clips.

Great gun. Trijicon night-sights as well.

Great guns for sure. I came very close to trading in on one, but stuck with the Smith Military & Police 9mm.
And your 270 appears to be a synthetic Remington 700ADL? I have one in 30-06. Good guns also.

nick, I'm also a bit of a gun nut. I love glocks and have had many... but I wouldn't blame you for wanting something a little nicer looking... or even something more "original". Glocks are reliable tools, but nowadays there are so many reliable autos that the old arguments no longer apply.

I actually hate the way glocks look. But their reliability / accuracy / ease of use and cleaning. Plus they feel GREAT in the hand.

Couldn't argue with it. Tried to like a springfield XD over the glock but it just couldn't happen. And I don't like the 2-1 trigger of the sig's.

Yep, I agree with everything you said about them, Nate. They fit me great, too. My 21 honestly feels like an extension of my arm I've shot it so much. And accurate, too. I used to time how long it would take me to hit 13 clay pigeons off my wood pile at 25yrds. Just hitting 13 in a row at any speed is testament to the accuracy, imo.
