Default What Handguns Do You Suggest

Okay so I have run into a deli ma I just turned 21 and it time to buy a home defense fire arm... great so naturally most say go for a glock or something similar right?

Okay but I also wanna buy a gun with alot of customization options... so that leads me more toward the taurus 1911....

So i guess what im asking is what gun do you guys suggest that moderates between simplicity, reliability, but still has alot of parts you can customize?

btw im looking mostly at .45's

you dont really need a .45,ill look at a .40 because ammo is cheaper and there alot of nice choices. i always like the ruger sr9

Kimber 1911...if you dont like the handguards you can always change them out. my brother has one, and the wood ones are kinda prickly.

I do love 1911's but i heard they can commonly have jammin problems... which would be bad if someone decided to break into my house

you could do a glock 23. but idk what your opinions are on no safety. sorry didnt see you didnt want a glock. my home defense is a 12 gauge shot gun with 00 buck shot.

For home defense?

.10 gauge pump shotgun. Most times you wont even have to fire it. Just **** it and watch em surrender.

+1 on the pump. Makes a nice sound in a quiet house...

The handgun is very easily stored in the night stand.
