Why is weeek 17 considered offseason and the last "regular" game of the FF season ends at the end of this week? That leaves 4 weeks left of football but only 3 of which are being utilized for FF playoffs. Shouldn't the playoffs start on week 14? WTF.

Depends on how the league is set up. Some leagues don't use wekk 17 as their Super Bowl week because a lot of the good teams sit their star players to rest for the playoffs.
