In all seriousness: China should have known that as the host for the olympics they would be under the microscope. And that an honest effort would be more important than outright athletic domination.
The international embarrasment is just not worth it.
Also, the top performers will always be scrutinized closer (the same way that in motorsports the winning machines get a "post race inspection" where they get dismanteled and evry part gets inspected, how do you think Eryon Honda got disqualified after winning the opening race this season for an illegaly modified camshaft? I am pretty sure none of the DNF, and the last places didn't have to get the post race inspection)

I think it's fair to say that none of us(me included) have ever scored an Olympic event (or most any events for that matter) to those who have, my apologies, and I bow to your superior knowledge.
I also believe there's a different approach in the Orient to that in the West. The Chinese actually don't seem to give a damn what the rest of the world thinks of them - recent events in that area of the world come to mind, but I don't want to turn this into a "bash the Chinese" post- the judges were from all the countries. Maybe there was pressure, who knows ?
There's no "remarks column" next to the medal winners names, and in 6 months no-one will even remember the little Chinese girl. She's only one of thousands...........and if she is/was underage, does it really matter now ? The ones I remember are those who get busted for performance enhancing drugs - the drive to win at all costs is so extreme in today's world, and it's sad when coaches and athletes succumb to the dopers.
