Broke a 21 year streak.
Yesterday I went down. Cold tires, cold road, too much throttle...Entirely my fault. Minor damage to the bike. No damage to the rider due to good gear. Looks like Shoei will be sellin another great helmet.
Hopefully it will be another 21 years for the next one.

Hey, glad to hear you are okay and that the bike didn't sustain too much damage.
They all say everyone goes down sometime, it just took you 21 years.
Just think, now you will be a better rider because of this incident.

Wow, sucks to hear that!
My grandpa took his first digger the other week, his first fall in over 45 years of riding. He took a turn too wide and got caught on some gravel or debris and went down, broke his hip...

Broke the mirror at the pivot, shift lever, bent the clutch lever, and minor scratches on the lower. I lowsided at maybe 10-15 mph. There would have been no damage if I had frame sliders.
This was a good reminder no to get too cocky...The 1k leaves a much smaller margin for error than a 750 or 600. I was leaned over and grabbed too much throttle, spun the rear tire and lost the rear of the bike...next thing was the horrible sound of plastic and metal meeting pavement, and an extreme closeup of the road as I face-planted.( I failed to release the bars). My shoei helmet and my Joe Rocket ballistic jacket took the impact and functioned perfectly. The padding on the elbows was in exactly the right spot to protect my forearms and elbows. I ended up with a small bruise on the back of my right hand, and scrapes in a couple spots on my thumb. Far as I can tell the bike slapped me on the hand for being foolish.

lol @ your helmet and what you must have seen. Good that your ok and even better that it happened the way it did. Sounds like a fortunate way to go down. Make sure you get that helmet replaced brother.
