I have been considering the sliders too. My question is this... Would I have ended up with damage in different areas? As it was, the bike slid on the lower and the rear footpeg bracket. With the slider in place acting as a fulcrum would it have pivoted and damaged the uppers and tail?
I was considering removing the passenger brackets to clean un the tail of the bike but they saved the tail section... and the dealer informed me that there is some provision in our provincial traffic act that removing them is a ticketable offence. I have to do some research into that.

thats always a possibility in a crash with or w/o sliders, but they are designed to protect the frame n not the fairings. Its just a added bonus in some cases.

I think the pass. peg thing is bs lol.

I read over our Traffic Safety Act and the laws governing equipment and found nothing that refers to the removal of footpegs. It does say that if you are carrying a passenger they must be present... so I agree. It must be BS.

Frame sliders are only called frame sliders because they attach to the frame. They wont protect the frame in a high speed crash. They ARE made to take the brunt of the impact when a bike goes down to save the majority of the fairings. And at speeds slower than 10 mph they will entirely save fairings with nothing but 1 minor scratch on either the tail section or front section. If your concerned about your frame you need race rails or a cage. where the impact is shared between 2 or 3 points on the frame.

If full impact is put on 1 frame slider it will bend the **** out of your frame. I've seen it.

Glad to hear your okay from your crash m8.
