Default Bike wouldnt start... and i'm glad!

Went to go to work this morning. Hit the remote start on my bike and everything was fine. Geared up, opened the driveway and rolled out on the street. Got back on, she's idling fine and temp is about 120. I rev the engine a bit... rpms drop to bout 700. Rev it again and Ororo coughs out. Restart... Nope. Battery is weak and I kill it trying to start her again.

So I start cussing. Im gonna be late to work, having to switch vehicles. And im gonna have to push her up a slope to park her. Get Ororo back in the driveway and on the charger, take off my gear and hop in the VW. Start driving to work. I get to an underpass on my route... and it's flooded.

At least 1.5 feet at the shallowest. Almost no warning of the conditions so I barely got the car below 10 mph before I hit the water. On the bike i'd have prolly hit it going faster since the roads were wet. Which woulda been an instant wreck. And even if I were somehow able to stop short of the water AND didn't eat a bumper from the traffic behind, there was no place to turn around and backtrack.

Glad Ororo decided to be a *itch this morning

Had a few of those moments but never with my bike.

Last year I needed to make a run to a far home depot for a good deal on a saw. I was going to go in my car (at the time a lowered sports car) but I decided that I might pick up some wood so I took my F250. About the time I got south we had flash flood conditions and all the roads were curb deep. Everyone else was stuck or going 2mph. I was able to continue doing the speed limit though I did put up a pretty big wake doing it. Would have been completely screwed in my 240sx.

That would definitely suck on a bike.

This happens to me a couple times a year. I live on an island, an in the winter there are a couple of weeks when I have to drive a 1/2 mile section of road covered with water. It's fine as long as you can see the paint, but at night no way. And once the water is high enough to hit your undercarriage. Time to stay home or take the canoe.
