Also as far as riding legally ... I always thought if you had the title and bill of sale with you while riding back from a sale then you were ok? I could be wrong but its what I've always done and have even been able to get on post (army) with just a bill of sale.

Yea have to have registration, inspection sticker, license plate and insurance to drive a bike here.

I am not calling to get insurance on the bike until I pay for it and load it in the truck, so will not have an insurance card. In La you are responsible for the plates on your sold vehicle and have to turn them in so he will be pulling them off before I leave.

Normal list of items needed to be legal here in La while riding and got a truck to haul it in so I don't have to ride it back home this time around.

Picking it up tomorrow morning, leaving around 7 and should be getting down there and loading it up around 10....doing all the paper work and heading back home.

Very Excited about this bike, especially since my brother is getting him a bike in the next two months and we can ride together.

*** unloaded it at the house, so far looks good. Will need a good cleaning and either a new chain or a good cleaning. Tail fairing has small crack from someone forcing the undertail on and it is pretty dusty under the fairings. Said its been sitting awhile but had stabil in the gas and ran it about twice a month.

I did notice that I will need tp adjust the clutch in, have to let all the way out before it catches. Will also need a good cleaning.

It came with he original owners manual, tool set, first aid kit, and key numbered chain tag to get keys made.

Ok took all the plastics off and inspected everything and it looks good and runs good. There was some dried oil at the bottom of the side fairings but he had said he tried the tin foil trick and spilt some his last oil change. So that probably was the problem ran it after cleaning everything for 5 mins and didn't see any leaks.

Will be looking up how to adjust the clutch so i can let it about half way out and it will engage.

Will also be cleaning or ordering a new chain b/c this one is filthy, looks like its never been cleaned, only oiled. Sprockets look good but are coated with dried oil from the chain so I will be spraying them down with some degreaser tomorrow too. The sprockets can be saved but idk about the chain.

Has anyone ever had two keys for their bike.....I got 4 with my bike. 2 fit the ignition and trunk and the other two only fit the gas tank. My last 2 F4i's had one key that fit everything (I think)...am I missing something.

Will post up some more pics when i get it ready for the road. Excuse my den, been pulling the fairings and cleaning everything on the bike to look like it came off the showroom floor. Have found it pretty hard to do, some of the stuff under there is just plain faded or stained from being in the elements.

Chain looks rusted but I cleaned one link and its just dried on oil

First aid came with a bell helmet it looks like and there is was a sticker under the tail fairing with the same logo as the owners manual.

Pulled the nose fairing today and cleaned it up and got all the dust on the stuff under it off. Pulled the front sprocket cover and there is rust on it and the chain up there so going to just order a chain/sprocket kit, chain rivet tool, dremel, rear stand and change it out while its sitting.

I read through this: and think it is pretty straight forward - Chain adjustment will probably kick my ***, never could adjust a chain properly.

Will also be needing bar ends (missing) for it and thinking about getting new grips while I am at it.

Found this sprocket kit I may order -- If i can't find better deal in it.

Looks good. PO probably broke the original fuel cap, so he just replaced it with another but of course the keys would be different.

Probably invest in the gas cap delete kit, were the gas cap just screws on instead of having a locking one.

Or do this:

--- Also picked up a rear/front stand from Harbor freight, 27 mm socket and torque wrench for the job. Ordered a RK chain/sprocket kit and chain tool to go along with it, going to use a grinder and just cut the chain off.....can't find a master link on it anywhere.
