Bike Recovered by SWAT
Me? I would have them look for the original frame to the bike and keep the title to the bike clean. I would want to take the bike down anyhow, because can you really trust a thief's work anyhow? JMO
yeah but the chances of finding the original frame is almost as rare as my friend finding his bike on eBay... And if we needed to get a new clean frame... that's another 1000-2000 from his pocket. I've learned from experience when I found out my previous 2005 gixxer 600 was a stolen bike and I had falsified documents from the person who sold it to me. Boy was I pissed. The DMV officer said that in order for me to get my money back, I would have to sue the guy who wrongfully sold the bike to me. They never did find the guy and I'm out some 4000 bucks.
Yeah it's good to hear someone actually get the property back, let alone get to see the ******* getting hauled away.
I've never had a bike stolen, but have many friends who have, and with all of em the Police did squat.
Almost like they have better and more important things to do with their time, which they most likely do.
I sort of get the feeling that this response with your friends machine may have a lot to do with selling stolen prop. on Ebay, not wanting to sully their rep.
