bike purchase idea
buy a Busa!!!!!! no just Kidding........if its your first bike puck up a cycle trader look at some of the used bikes... but if you are hell bent on new work the dealer for a good price...... tell them you want it for the MSRP (know the MSRP price so the think you know what you are doing) out the door..... if they don't budge shop around someone will.
its your money, your bike get what you want. you seem to want something "newer" and i can totally understand that. i started on a f3 and now ride a 900RR after about 1 year . id love to have a newer 600RR but just dont have the cash for it.
basically i just wanted to say tht you dont have to start out on something older to actually learn to ride . and not everyone is a "squid" for starting out with a nice newer bike. so get what you want and enjoy it , be safe and keep it on 2 wheels lol

yeah a rc51 would be badass, but i am a n00b, only exp is on a 150 like 3 years ago...so thats why i am looking for input....
good luck.
Anyway, Speedo, after putting up with all of our bull$hit
, I hope you find the rightbike for you. Definitely keep us posted! I really wouldn't go above a 600, though!!!

I started out on a brand new 06 1krr as my first sportbike. I did also get my first bike around the age of 2 and rode dirt bikes untill 16 when I built my harley and rode herfor 10 years untill my honda. That experience laid out, the only thing I had going for me was throttel control and what a sliding/locking tire felt like. I was so nervous on my rr. Turns that I would take dragging frame and sliding the rear on my HD I was taking @ 50 on the rr, It's a whole new world with these big bikes! But, if you start out smart and ride conservitivly your good. But bieng your under 21, I doubt that will happen. Get an older bike you can learn on and drop a few times, cause you will drop it. EVERYBODY does.
I'm just going to be sad when the day comes when there's a post on here by you titled "I just dropped my bike" or "wrecked it today." I'm sure when I read it I'll have to wipe away tears because a brand new '07 6oorr's life was cut short because of a beginner mistake. The older bikes have had their fun, and some of them need to be put out to pasture. That's what they're for, so I stick with my guns and say get an old bike.
Just yesterday I went to the dealer to yell at them for having my bike for so long. On the way there I saw a bike wreck. It was a guy on a newer GSXR 750. It looked like there weren't any other vehicles involved, and the rider was standing at the back of the ambulance. He looked ok, but the bikes plastics were $hit on the left side and front. Then, at the dealership I was looking on the showroom floor. Salesman approached me and we started talking. He told me a story about how on Tuesday a kid came in to buy a pearl white/silver '07 600rr. He had just passed the MSF course the previous weekend, but had never ridden any other bike. The salesman asked him over and over if he would like a FREE trailering of the new rr to his house. The guy refused and said that he was going to ride it home. Said that he didn't even make it out of the parking lot. Kid grabbed a handful of throttle, popped the clutch, zoomed in a straight line where he high-sided over the curb and into the grass.
