Default Best chain and sprocket kit?

It's time for me to replace the chain and sprocket. I was looking at kits (short on money right now). Trying to decide between Regina, RK, or D.I.D.

I'm a fan of AFAM sprockets with a DID chain.

Default chain

Regina chain kits normally come with both styles of master links, chain pre cut to the length (stock # of links for your bike) and reasonable steel sprockets. I paid about 160 dollars for my last regina kit, they don't stretch much (very rapidly) after the initial 1000 miles unlike some others. If you want the lighter get an rk kit with aluminum, or a 520 conversion (typically 20 to 40 dollars more). DID chains are great but like everything else Price goes up with quality and style, ie x-ring etc. If you want simple bang for the buck, regina would be my suggestion.

520's are cheaper than 525's or 530's chain for chain. i generally just make sure i get a chain that's good enough for my hp application. but i've used a bunch of different ones with all about the same results. x-rings are better - but much more expensive - great if you're a hard rider or live in a really dirty area - not really needed for a commuter. kits don't usually work for me - because i have different pieces from different bikes.

if you use ebay though, you can get everything you need for a real good price - and not be limited by "kits"

Hard racing's kits let you choose your sprockets. I've got a 600rr rear wheel on my F4 and all I had to do was put it in the notes when I ordered the kit. Got AFAM sprockets with a 520 DID X-ring chain (I asked for 120 links but they cut to your bike) for $175 shipped so for $15 more there's not a huge price difference. Can't complain that much.

that's a handy bit of information to have. if you're buying from someone that has a ton of parts, it makes sense that they can swap out sprockets for you.
