I work for a company...won't say what/who, where all employees are 1099's..(basically self-contractors).

That means you are responsible for:

Finishing work/project...and/or meeting goals

Paying your own income taxes at the end of the year...(I made **** last year, but still have to pay.)

The good parts:

You get ahead in your work...you can tell them...naaa...gonna rain tomorrow...I'll be in _____________.
(Currently...my bike is my only source of reliable transpo).

And they can't do diddly **** about it.

It's actually against Federal Law to try and control or try and direct the actions of a 1099 employee.

Of course, my boss tries to have it both ways with any of his employees he can, and a few are too stupid to know any better.

I don't mean to come off sounding like a slacker...just hate my job atm....except that part. hahaaaaaaaa

I know how that is, I was like that at my last job. The other advantage of being 1099'd is the amount of **** you get to right off. I wrote off enough that they owed me $18. Not much, but if you've ever been 1099'd on a very large amount, you know how happy i was. The only bad thing about that was it cost me $320 for H&R block to do that. So i came out $302 in the whole, but thats thousands less than what i expected.
