Anyone play? WSBK 2000
Raining and hailing out...so...the next best thing...PC games...I guess.
WSBK 2000...
(wish I could find a copy of WSBK 2001 as I have always heard it is much better.)
Still this is fun.
Anyone try the online, LAN vs. LAN aspect?
Would love to race against someone here.

Well, the biggest difference is that WBSK is an actual sim, meaning you have to develop real skills to play it, whereas the MOTO GP series
is about as realistic as...well..nothing. MotoGP would be considered a joke in the PC sim gaming world.
If you like simulations instead of arcade like dreck...then games like WSBK, the old EA Sports F1 series, Grand Prix Legends, are some great ones.
Even though most of these gams are over 5-10 years old, they were realistic in portraying real world driving and/or riding phyics.
Car and bike set up, from real spring, compression and rebound damping, and gearing and overall engine adjustments were and are
crucial to winning, or running into the nearest available hay bail. You can actually high side and stuff in sims, as opposed to
just pressing two buttons and being the Moto GP champ of the world.
You can also make brake, rake and trail, and thus fine tune your cornering.
I dare say some of these better sims can actually make you a better real world driver, and give you actual real world technical
data.
You should look into it.

I loved Gran Turismo, and now Forza II when it comes to sims. I would beg to differ with you a bit with MotoGP. I do understand and agree that there is the arcade edge to it, but when I played MotoGP '06 on Xbox Live, some of those other guys that have their bikes setup rip it up pretty good. The career was pretty easy though.
PGR4 was also pretty badass, albeit arcade fashion once again, stunting added to the coolness of that. Not to mention them having a 600rr available.

You'd have to play a real sim, (which don't exist on any console...sorry)...to see what I mean bro.
Racing, flight sims, they are all "dumbed down" on consoles and now mostly on PC's as well these days.

Oh god. I played Flight Simulator. I like never want to fly a plane after playing that. 75% of the screen is just guages and switchs. I'm like wtf. Its so boring. Suposivly, playing that sim can go to real world liscencing.

But you are right about that sim going to or at least helping in getting a real world license.
The latest MS Flight sims have been known to be used by even terrorists to uhhh get acquainted with the controls of large aircraft.
Asfar s race sims go.
I can tell you that after the initial and more often than not very steep learning curves...racing sims are NOT...boring.
I was actually part of a worldwide global lap time table for EA's Formula 1 2002.
Players from all over the world submitted from real in game telemetry their best lap times.
I ended up ranked top 20, (15th or 18th I think) worldwide, out of about 100,000+ drivers.
The old site which can be found at the link below and has fallen into disrepair since Sony owns and has owned the exclusive FIA F1 rights exclusively for use on it's PS consoles since 2004.
Of course about 10 copies of a "sim" on a console were sold, and yes it's very dumbed down.
Anyway...the old site link: (My username was BMG Cya Racing) Listed on the F12002 "old site"...and I have some rankings on the last
PC version from EA...F1 Challenge.
