I know that's not real and all...

But the fact that they made a commercial out of it gives me a bit of relief in knowing that it's not just American kids.

I agree 1000%. I'm glad my kids are older and I'm past that stage cuz nowadays, you whip your kid in public and you have to worry about some do-gooder type reporting you to child services.

My oldest sister always had the mentality to not whip her kids... either remove them from the situation or remove the object from them. Biggest bunch of BS I've ever seen in my life. To this day, her kids are rotten and now they are adults. I still want to whip their asses!

...But yes, a quick backhand (with one or two fingers only, you don't want to split the kid's lip, just startle him) right on the kisser and a stern "BE QUIET, or I SAID NO!!" would have solved the problem right as he started to scream.

 

What I've always done, is blindfold my kids, and put them on a stool in the front yard for a couple hours. Now, all I have to say is, "Go get your blindfold!"

 

throw them in the shower, fully clothed and slightly cold to shock them. Works great on my nieces(actually only thing that works on my nieces.) Stops the fit instantly.
