Did you name them yet? If not, I have a suggestion. Name one of them bushy and the other one monkey. That way you can ask people if they want to see your bushy monkey.

Do Piranah get "hole in the head disease"? I am always afraid of fedding my Oscar live fish becasue the bacteria they leave behind causes this odd disease.

use a de filter, cleans the water really well, when i had my 2 red bellies-the de filter kept the nitrite
levels low,and also worked better then medicines(when the two of them would fight-it was not
very pretty-they would have teeth marks all over their bodies!!sometimes small sections removed!!)

I have never had a problem with that disease. I had the goldfish in the tank to cycle it before I put the red bellies in. Usually they feed on bloodworms and brine shrimp. I planted some live plants with vermiculite and peat moss to help with the levels as well as a bio wheel powerhead and a diatom filter.

Angry little guys. My buddies oscar wieghed 10 lbs when it died and was 12 years old. So freakin big it had to stand on its head to turn around in its 50 gal tank. He shared it with a huuuuge pleisto that was half the tanks length. The oscar blinded it when it was like 5 yrs old. Anyway, the oscar got hole in the head for like 2 years and then suddenly got better with no help and lived 3 more years after. Mean bastard, would take a chunk out of your finger if you put it in the tank, abd if you got too close to the tank it would head butt the glass till you moved away. cool fish.(btw I bought my bike from him 9 years ago, we've snowboarded together since 94 and went to high school together too.)
