RE: Advice on staying awake.
sleep deprivation is one of the most unhealth things for not only your body but your mind. You may not think it at the time but it can fawk you up. Depression is one serious result. This summer I worked 3rd shift and took 3 summer courses, had to sit through 2 hour lectures M-F after an all nighter and then do hwk/study after class. Sleep was a luxury and my overall mood and behavior reflected this. I was really short with my gf. I flipped easily at work if a program wasn't working out right(I program and maintain robots, it can be very frustrating). After about a month straight your brain is complete ****. I'd rather nod off in class than turn to chemicals (just wait, 10 years from now surprise surprise guarana causes cancer or something) or rely on caffeine/nicotine/other to stay up. At work if it gets bad I really have to do something but the most I'll do is have a couple drinks of coffee or a coke or something but nothing habitual. I'd quit my job and sell my bike before I started filling my body up with new chemicals designed to substitute sleep. Artificial **** like that is never good for you. The guy I work with has been doing this shift for 8 years and drinks like 8 diet pepsi's a night and one would think, oh it's fine, it has nothing in it. Well he's had like 6 kidney stones.

Aweasel, are you out of your mind? 1000 dollars? get out of here, dont tell him to give it up, 1000 dollars is a lot of money, id stay up for 5 days no problem!
Also, Aweasel, read HardCorps posts on this thread: https://cbrforum.com/m_516922/tm.htm
It does not lead to depression, etc. Sleep deprevation only brings out the truth.

you may also try filling a big bowl with half way water and the rest with ice. And dip your face in the ice. 3 seconds and you will feel the difference. And also get a piece of ice when you get sleepy, and rub it back of your ear. Not joking, it works.
