Also, console games don't drive technological developments as much as PCs. The reason you are playing those newer game systems is because the technology was developed over the years. Console technology becomes stagnant.
Force feedback, Rumble sticks, better graphics, hard drive space, memory, faster processors...all because of the PC.
Now.... Wii is an exception to the rule.

Agreed...to me it simply comes down to the individual games. FPS games are almost always better on the PC, but I prefer console for sports and racing and for the exclusive titles like the Metal Gears and Rock Bands and such. Either way you look at it, it's gonna cost you whether your upgrading PC components or buying new consoles. Both have their pros and cons though.

Do what I do and just wait a few months, then buy hardware at 1/2 - 3/4 off. I NEVER buy brand new hardware. It's ridiculous at what a new processor cost brand new off the assembly line. But people that buy at high prices help bring the price down later down the road. So think you rich people.
Also buy in time. I build my own stuff and I dont do it all at once. That's waiting on price drops. I'm always hovering on slickdeals.net It doesnt bother me to play a game slightly under High settings, upgrade later, then play it again on High. *cough* crysis *cough*
I agree. The PS3 is a powerful machine but nothing is using it and I dont even see down the road that the PS3 will use its full potential. I believe sony went way over their heads on it.
AS the great Yahtzee said, "Consoles games are at the point where they pretty much look as good as they are gonna get. Let concentrate on making games with depth"

Just shows how little thought is put into a product just to hurry it up and get money for it. O M$ when will you ever learn?
Thats ok. I like to play by my self.
I hit 18801 today. Jeeze I get bored. I even overclocked the hell out of my memory and the score actually dropped. So I'm back to stock mem speed, overclocked quad by 1.2GHz (3.6GHz w/ 1600FSB She's one hot tamale
), and two 8800GT's with their new heatsinks at 700/1000MHz. I'll try 750/1050 tomorrow.
