Default 2006 CBR 600 RR manual says octane 86 or above...

What octane do you use on a CBR600RR Ive read 96 on a manual, but a friend recommended to use 91... Yea, I know, I'm trying to be cheap. LOL Actually, I've been using 91 and just thought what difference would it make if i used 87..

Thanks!

I assume you meant 86.

Tryign to be cheap? (do the math it is like 20 bucks over the course of the year).

You need not use anythign above what the manufacturer recommends, but I burn premium in my F4i, as do probably MOST people here. Gasoline will lose some octane points as it sits so if your ride sits some you might want to burn something slightly higher.

Ya, 91 is what most use. My '07 manual says 91. Anything higher is just a waste of money.

Everything you want to know about octane is here:

I use ordinary, plain regular as listed in the manual. 52,000 miles on the 954RR using regular. No problems. My 600RR is tuned for premium, so that's what it gets.
