Default 2006 CBR 600 octane

can someone tell me the preferred octane for a 06 600? my friend said that 93 is good because it runs richer but it heats up my bike so quick. i use to use 83 and my bike ran fine but was thinking about going to 87, any suggestions on what i should do?

Put in what the owners manual tells you too.
The put i there for a reason.
If you dont have an owners manual search "Octane" and read the hundreds of questions already answered to this exact same question.

Where the heck would you get 83 octane? Lowest I've ever seen was 85 and that was way up high in colorado. As stated above read the manual or theres usually a sticker on the bike telling you what octane as well.

I always use premium. (93 around here). Won't use anything less. If 93 isn't available I'll run 91 if I have to.

the manual and sticker on (08 CBR RR )the tank says 93. high compression engines need slower burning fuels, ie higher octane, you may get preiginition if you use lower octanes, and i think higher octanes burn cleaner. you shouldnt notice any performance differences with different octanes, just the pinging from preiginiton that can damage pistons

right, i just mean that if the bike runs fine on 89, you wont get more horsepower from a 93 octane, a lot of people think the higher the octane the better the performance
