there has been a few times here that the gas station has run out of gas, but the employees were inside

i asked why and the manager told me its because even though they are closed due to being out of gas, the employees are still required to work lol

Literally rape...you're right. It's stomping the people with no regards whatsoever.

One short blast alone costs me around 30-40 bucks.
One day out with the guys steps me back around 80-90!!

it's just sad...the exploiting

Our economy will collapse long before we ever reach those kinds of prices. We're talking a Mad Max scenario.

I remember 87 being $0.89/gal. that was when I first started driving. Last night when I was getting fuel, 87 cost $3.75/gal

I don't think todays gas is even three times better than it was 11-12 years ago...so why the price explosion??

Yup, Portugal economy has just collapsed. The government has just been denied the continuation in power and we're on the verge of massive uprisings against the state.
Think Greece and Argentina...

The FMI as just been called for help and from now on, if things were bad it will only get much worser. The corruption and massive abuse of power and influence has now become unbearable for the low/medium class.

It's gonna get ugly...

I remember hearing that here in the states, people are willing to pay $5.00/gallon before making any major changes. (driving much less, buying a more fuel efficient vehicle). We will find out soon enough, we are headed to $5.00/gallon this summer.

All I know, is that I'm installing a pellet stove for next winter. Oil heating bills suck.

Pellet's good but If you don't mind chopping wood and can get it for cheap/free I'm telling you a wood boiler is the way to go. I helped my dad put his in and that winter was the warmest I have ever seen at that house. Plus they saved a ton of money not using propane. He even ran a part of the hot water loop through his hot water heater so during the colder months thats free too.
