Default Why a CBR??

Hello all. I have just recently signed up for this forum as I expect to be purchasing a CBR within the next few months. My question for you all is...Why a CBR? Besides the look, and the name Honda, what characteristics of the bike make it stand out? What makes this bike better than a GSXR, R6, Ninja...and so on? I have pretty much made my decision, but help me justify it by noting some safety aspects of the bike (for example) or possibly other reasons to consider. Thanks! and Happy Riding!

I my case it was what the guy that wanted the boat I was selling had to offer me. I have never been on anything else, but I understand that the CBR's tend to be more comfortable and powerful than alot of the competitors.

I would have to say reliability and fit and finish on Honda motorcycles (not just the CBR line) are second to none. If you simply want speed and handleing, you can get that with any make. If you want one that will last, get the Honda.

I'll second that. Honda = reliability. Whether its outboard marine engines, atvs, dirtbikes, or motorcycles.

Hello Jason, coincidentaly when I was searching for my first bike, I asked the same question on a YAMAHA forum (R6 Central). Looking back, I couldn't have made a better decision had I planned on it (F4i). I love all sportbikes, and like Classic mentioned, the rider makes most (if not all) the difference. Let us know how you do & feel free to ask around.
Welcome to the forum

Default Thanks for the replies...

Thanks all for the replies, I am at the stage now that Im literaly dreaming about riding. So the purchase is coming soon. The multiple hours at work that ive spent not working and reading about bikes has led me to the conclusion that my eyes took seconds to make. Which is the Honda (CBR, F4i, Interceptor) are not only the best looking bikes, but they seem to have the best balance of value, reliability, and performance. The bike I purchase, like my other vehicles, will without a doubt last a long time in my garage and be very well taken care of.

Im getting anxious for the most important choice....which model, how much do I pay, new/used, 600/1000. I appreciate having this forum and dedicated mambers who can answer... I shall keep you all posted with my follies of bike purchasing, and hopefully when its all said and done, I can ride with some of you.

You can never be 100% when buying anything used..... I just bought mine a few days ago & I still am hoping I got a good deal..... Although the bike looks & performs pristine..... I rode it 120 miles home when I bought it & it didn't so much as sputter once...... I would be cruising on the interstate at 70 to 80 mph & just goose the gas a little bit & be going 125 mph in seconds...... So I guess that is the way they should perform.......

Now, to help with your question...... This is my first sport bike but I have owned 3 wheelers, 4 wheelers, dirt bikes, & street bikes..... They were all Honda's..... One thing you will learn about Honda is they are king of reliability...... They are just plain tough & keep on kicking..... I would buy Honda even if they didn't look as good as the others but in my opinion they look better..... The F4i & RR Honda's are one of the best if not the best looking sport bikes.....

Good Luck
