75mph around 6,000 in 6th sounds about right to me. I'm think you were in 6th and didn't notice. You can usally tell if your high 60's mph and your at 6k rpm's then your in 5th gear (according to my bike '02 f4i). Try shifting gears a 5-6k rpm and you should do fine.

WoW, the more i dig into this bike the more problems i am finding.

THe previous owner said that they had only knocked the bike over and that was what caused the scraping on the right side fairing. Upon further inspection today i have found that a lot of the screws and clips for the fairing are missing along with a little bracket that connects to ,looks like the oil pan, is gone. The exhaust pipe is smashed into the (frame rail ?) - the black rail just behind the pipe - it needs rear brakes, and sprockets and chain. Anyone know where i can get the sprocket and chain kit on the cheap ? The dealer wants 200.00 for it, i didn't wanna ask what the labor was gonna be to put it in.

Hello & [sm=welcomesign.gif] Tony!
Nice F4i, sounds like you have quite a few ?s that need to be answered.
Post'em in the F4i forum, you'll get an answer fast.
Check Ebay for there are quite a few quick accell kits (-1 frt, +2 rear) if that's what U are looking for.
Post some pics of the bracket area you are talking about in the F4i forum so we can help you out better
