Default Sport bike Noob here, Hello all !

Hello everyone, I just got me 1st sport bike this morning ! Its a 01 cbr600 f4i ! My previous bike was an 'ol '83 Honda shadow vt750c, it was me 1st bike that i bought last July as my 1st bike to learn to ride on. I took the MSF rider course, and have been wondering why i have waited so long in life to get on 2 wheels . I am turning 42 on the 20th, weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ! I guess yer never to old to learn.

Curious, when riding it home this morning on the hwy., it didn't seem to go in to 6th. I dunno if i was already there or not, i didn't think to count the shifts, anyway when i was at about 75mph the rpm's were at around 6,000 . wondering if that was normal ? I will check it better tomorrow.

The redline is 14.5k.... Why exactly are you shifting so soon? I am not sure where you should be at that speed and in which gear, but I am concerned about your shifting... The bike should be doing this speed in 3rd gear. Sport bikes are not like cruisers, you dont have a per say overdrive.... I would say at most for that speed stay in 4th on a normal road in a long straight, or 5th on the highway where the speed is 65. I know that on my F3 I would only go into 6th if I was on a rd where the speed limit was 75 and I was cruising along legally, or if i was going 100+.
