Safety Information

RE: Safety Information
Really great thread to start, some excellent information...
I will probably repeat what you all have said but just want to add my piece.
-Ride with smart people, preferabbly better riders than you, to help YOU learn and push yourself in a safe manner.
-Keep a level head: know your limits, know the conditions on the road, watch the weather channel, plan...
-Wear your gear in all conditions, something is better than wearing nothing and feeling "cool"
-Keep your bike maintained: oil, tires, chain, etc. You dont want alittle failure when you are out riding around, especially something that could have been prevented with some lube or air pressure.
KEEP IT SAFE OUT THERE!

RE: Safety Information
i know mods/admins hate tacking millions of "stickies" up, but i just played hell finding this and i think its one of the MOST helpful threads in this section that could help many many newbies that look to this section of our forum for help/advice. this thread definately has a wealth of knowlege from experienced people.....
sticky..yes, no....? i think its a good idea and NOT a waste of space.

I already have a nice leather jacket, and gloves, pants are on the list but i was reading about the ankle covering boots.... any options other than race style boots... you know something a lil more umm street friendly i guess you could say...

RE: Safety Information
After getting your first bike and riding for a bit, you'll start to feel more confident. Its at this point you'll feel the need possibly to push harder and harder. I suggest taking a look at signing up for a local track day/track school or schedule the advance MSF course.
