A Quick Hello From n. California
Hello Everyone, I thought I would drop in and say hello and say a little about myself and my experience. I joined this forum about a month ago because my latest CBRF2 was giving me problems and I was looking for a quick fix I have made a few posts and offered a few reponses to other posts. I am trying to share my knowledge while trying to gain more.
I am 44 years old, so I imagine I am twice as old as most of the people here. I am also a Type II Diabetic.
My first 1992 F2 I got almost 180,000 miles out of it, and that was after being hit by a car and then hitting two deer. The second deer made the bike unrebuildable and it became a parts bike for my second F2. Before my F2's I rode a 1982 Yamaha Seca 650 which though heavy, was a great bike. Very fast, very comfortable and reliable. Never had problems with it. Anyway, when I hit the second deer on my original F2, it almost killed me and I was unable to ride for almost 5 years, it took that long for me to rehabilitate.
I got into cars, first muscle cars, then I discovered Miata's. Four wheeled motorcycles I call em. I built 2 turbocharged miata's, and I own www.mazdamiata.com. I recently had a brain fart and let someone by BOTH of my miata's. I still have my second F2 which for 10 years or so I only rode one or two days a month.
Anyway, I live in N. California's San Francisco Bay Area, near Tomales actually. Very close to Hwy 1 for nice coastal runs, a few minutes from Wine Country, a few hours from Lake Tahoe or if I go south Santa Cruz. I figure I am located in perfect motorcycle country as ever weekend bikes of every sort cruise past my house.
So, let me give you all a wave, and I'll be off.
