I'm new here and just wanted to stop in and say hi. I picked up a 95 CBR1000f with only 13,000 miles from the original owner. He's a school teacher who liked polishing it but not big on actually riding...lol. some guys like their garage queens I guess. anyhooo, this thing is pretty much showroom condition. I just cleaned the carbs which he paid to have done and they did a lousy job. I got her running smooth as glass (for a carb bike). He just put a new set of Road Smarts on and decided to let her go. My question is where can I find a 4 into 1 header for this thing? looking to get some performance out of her. Of course I'll have to rejet and use some pods but it's a shame to ride this heavy slug around when I know she can scream with a couple mods. I have a 2014 FZ1 and I don't expect that kind of performance but after I ride my fizzer and get on the CBR it's like riding a dirt bike, lol. any suggestions on where I can get some performance advice? I paid $2000 for her so I have some $wiggle room. of course I don't wanna sink a ton of money in it but definitely need her to perk up a bit.... thanks for any advice you can give me.

 

Hi and welcome to the forum. We'd love to see some pictures if you're so inclined. I used to have a 95 myself, nice bike. As for headers, that might be a challenge. I seem to recall someone on here in the last few months picking one up. I'd search the 1000F section for that information.

is there any jet - air pod combo that will improve performance without changing the exhaust? not crazy about the stock pipes but I can live with em.

 

Wow, that looks great. Personally I wouldn't change a thing visually. Like you said, you have an FZ1 and they are from different era's.

yeah I thought for the condition it was a steal.... actually saw it in his driveway out in the middle of nowhere. being a 1 owner for 26 years impressed the hell out of me. most guys lose interest and their bikes are all banged up after that kind of times passes. it's like frozen in time
