Hey robdizz, welcome to CBRF! I started out on a Ninja 250 many many manyyears ago and was surprised at how much fun it was. It was a great bike to learn on and nimble as all get out. I used to get 250 miles per tankful on it too!!! That means something in this day and age. If you go the 600 route, just make sure you do respect the bike and I strongly urge you to take some sort of motorcycle safety course no matter what bike you get. It will teachyou somevaluable skills and lower your insurance rates aswell.

whatever you choose to get just take it slow and dont go beyond your abilities ridding. i had a 1995 cbr 600 f3 and i think that is a great bike to learn on. has plenty of power and is pretty forgiving.
