Hello All,

I have just purchased a '02 954RR, and am new to the sportbike scene... I have always wanted a sportbike and FINALY after 7 LONG months in Iraq, i have one!! Well... before I bought the bike i had some friends drive it, and tell me what they thought (avid sportbike riders)... they insured me that it is a good deal, and also told me to look for a steering damper. Aparently it makes all the difference in the world... if I could get some feedback on what manufacturer, and model i should be looking for, it would be greatly appreciated... thank you!!

Hello Brandon, congratulations on your new bike, but above all, thank you for your service and I'm glad you're back in one piece. About the damper, your best bet would be to ask that in either the 954RR and/or the General Tech Section ~ Ohlins or Scotts are going to be your top manufacturers. Take it easy with that bike & stay safe.

Welcome to the CBRF , sport bike's and back from the sand pit Brandon...

The steering damper is a good idea , but personally , it will only really do you any good if you are riding your F4i up at the top end of it's performance capabilities scale mate.. ( riding like a man possessed

)
but ...hey , they look good anyways ..lol

Take care while you are getting to know your bike... ..allot of the more silly accidents happen and dumb mistakes are made early in riding careers..so be careful mate
