The YZF600R is heavy and underpowered compared to an F3, F4 or especially an F4i, and the suspension is a little soft. It's still a very capable bike, just not by modern sportbike standards. But if you're using it to get around town, want to have some fun, and develop your riding skills, you can accomplish all of that on the Yamaha.

I think the reason to choose the Yamaha over a CBR would be either because you can get a better deal on one, or because you find it a lot more comfortable to ride.

Whatever you decide, ride safe and have fun!
