Default New To The Site

hey guys new to this forum, heard about it from a buddy over on customfighters, im a 22 year old professional semi driver, i got my 87 honda hurricane in horse trade, traded my old motocross bike for my first sport bike, wanted one for years but only ever had cruisers. since i got a sport bike ill never go back. got pretty sick of fairings, i hated the way the bike looked, and the PITA of feeling like i have to take care of the bodywork, i was used to motocross, bodywork seemed dumb to me. so i stripped it down and rode the season on a naked bike ratrodded 87 hurricane. ugly, sure, but it worked.

just recently i took the bike apart, and did a full cafe style streetfighter build, complete do-over, built a subframe to go with a zx-10r seat i got for free, fenders and headlight from an old salvaged bike, and lots of DIY bodywork and such. anyways heres some pics, its not done (no such thing ) but im really happy with how its turned out thus far.

started with this, dont let it fool you it looked nice but there were only four mounting tabs and two pressure clips left on the whole bike when i got it.

turned it into this when the fairings were encroaching on my ability to ride the bike.

after the rebuild its become this

oh and yes, this is a tractor flapper. lol, it serves several functions actually, looks sweet when the bikes running, keeps dirt and water out of my pipe, and serves to slow the exhaust down to keep her running a little on the rich side.

Nice bike, love the mudguards (fenders) the whole thing simply looks 'all business'. What a great way for a classic sports/tourer to live its mid life crisis.
