Thanks for the suggestions. Next time I go home, I'll bring up the subject of motorcycles again. My best bet, like you said Munson, is to do a lot of research and lay out my plan for taking the MSF course and all that. Thanks again.

If you want cheap insurance then go to state farm. Nobody can beat them right now due to the fact they go by the cc size and not that it falls under the sportbike category. Progressive was too high for me but everyones situation is different. But i would say state farm, dairyland, or geico as a last resort.

 

Explain to your parents that you will not love them anymore if you don't get a motorcycle. J/K my parents were the same way, they hated the idea of me getting a bike. They past away a year and a half ago. The first thing I did was to buy a bike. Although I miss my parents, I do love my bike. I am not saying for you to 'whack' your parents, what you need to do is to be patient, sooner or later things will work out.

 

I would recommend against what I did when bought my bike.......I kinda didn't tell them.......just drove home on it.....this leads to a few weeks of silence and anger from your parents. I would however recommed a Hurricane, mine is a good strong runner with 33k+ miles on it. And I get extremely lucky with all of my gear, got it all used and in mint condition from a friend of mine who bought all new stuff, and progessive isn't that bad on insurance either. Best of luck with getting a bike!

 

Thanks for your input guys. I've been studying for final exams and haven't had a chance to really look into some of this stuff. I know I want to take the MSF course but they are always full and have months of back up requests to take it. Instead of a honda hurricane or f2, I've been following a few Interceptors in my area. I figured since they're from Honda then they must be reliable compared to some others. What is your guys take on the Interceptor? And does anyone know if they make frame sliders for this old of a motorcycle? Thanks.

 

I like the Interceptor. It may be my next bike,
