Hello,
I'm a new member to the forum, I don't have a CBR yet, but I'm in the market for one. I took the MSF course back in 2005 and had great fun. My first bike was a 97 Yamaha YZF600R. I bought it wrecked from a friend (front end) and rebuilt it. I got as far as putting a new rear axle and setting the tension on the chain, when it got stolen. I was close to buying a F4i this weekend, but someone purchased it before I got a chance to look at it. Once I get one, I plan to spend about a month in the parking garage and riding around the neighborhood before I hit the streets. Cheers to a great riding season.

+1 with taking it easy inthe beginning.
Practice panic stops alot (I still do them a few times a week), that really is the most important skill out there, you can always ride slow and show restraint and control, just cruise until you feel comfortable, but stopping is what will save you in situation out of your control..

One thing that concerned me while I took the MSF course was the Sudden Brake While in a Turn exercise. We just seemed to have zipped by it, but it seemed like such an important exercise, I thought there should've been more time spent on it.
Panic stops are definitely one of the things I will be practicing in the garage, and when I'm on the streets (when no one is around me).
