New member here. Had my share of bikes, 10+ total, 4 CBRs.
Here's my first. I think it was an '04. Bought it off some kid, whose parents made him sell it. Wanted $3500, got it for $1500.
Sold the '03/04 for an '06.
Found a sweet deal in 2007, for a 2007 with 800 miles for $7k, so bye to the '06
Hit some financial difficulties, sold the '07. Few months later found a track/streetable '05. Rode it for a while, till I crashed at Buttonwillow.
And then rebuilt it. Tracked it. Sold it.
Got a 2010 RSV4 then it blew up on me. Decided to buy brand new and got a 2016 R1. Hell of a bike, but wanted something smaller, track dedicated.
Found a junked '08 for $500. Just had a deep scratch on the frame, but everything else looked decent. PO thought it didn't run. But I noticed the BAS was missing, so I knew I had a chance of getting it started. And it did as soon as I jumped the BAS. She's still a work in progress for the next few weeks.
I hope there are still some people here. I like working on my own stuff, even though it's a lot of trial and error. But forums always gave me so much information and I hope there are enough people to share!
