Thanks Jason. Grand Rapids is great, I lived near downtown GR a few years ago. I currently live south of town just a bit, closer to US131 and M6.
Grand Rapids is a great city with a exciting nightlife...Way safer than Detroit too. Lots of things to do here, A lot of different places (mostly bars, resturaunts) have got their weekly bike nites. Quite a few different bike clubs here too. I am not affiliated with any club but they are usually cool about riding along with em. As always, it helps to know ppl in certain circles.
I rarely make it south to Kzoo. U make it up here at all?

I don't normally go to GR very often. If I do I'm usually checking out a fixer upper car to flip. I buy and sell a lot on craigslist and sometimes I go to GR for a look. I know a lot about cars but nothing about bikes...so this is all new to me. I plan on getting some tools and stuff so I can change my chain and sprocket, but like I said I've never worked on a bike before...

Cool, well, if u can figure out wrenching and flipping cars, you should be alright with a bike. This forum is PRICELESS when it comes to asking questions and getting answers. Also a Haynes manual is a good investment too. I started wrenching when I decided to build my own mud truck. No formal training. Lots of Hands-On, trial and error. Lots of fun.

Yeah, 87 Mazda b2600. Chevy 350, 700r4, np208, fullsize axles, 35 inch super swampers. Built it pretty much myself in my dads barn. I originally designed it for the dunes, but it was mostly a mud truck. I made it to silver lake a few times with that truck but it got to be too costly. Mudruns were a lot closer to home, cheaper... lol, they dont call me Dutch for nothin!

That's awesome. I use to have a 90 mazda b2200 and it was an ok truck. Had a lot of problems with it though.
I plan on going up to silver lake this year again. I'm going haul my cbr with my jeep up there.
I just picked this up a few weeks ago.
Also here's the jeep I built up. It's more for performance and luxury than trail riding but I did take it to the dunes at silver lake.

lol. My daily driver is also a Jeep Grand Cherokee.
How does ur Jeep handle that much added weight with ur bike on the back. Thats gotta squat those rear coil springs and probly make the front ones a bit l o n g e r . . . ? Ive considered buying one of those bike carriers for my Jeep, but am a little hesitant. Your thoughts on it?

Cool Jeep. I bought the SMC-600R from summit racing. Loading it wasn't that bad. My rear springs didn't move as much as I thought they would. My friend actually followed me home because I drove my miata. He told me it drove good though without any issues. I did a lot of research before I bought this one and I am very happy with what I purchased. I would definitely recommend it.
