I just recently bought a 2001 cbr 600 f4i. i am a first time rider and i love riding it. The bike need some work to it. the kid took it apart and painted it. The paint sucks but i figure i wont feel as bad if i lay it down. i am going to get it painted in the fall. i have bought little mods for it like carbon fiber mirrors, screen, fork cover, tank cover and tag plate cover. i should have pics shortly. My roommate also just bought a bike (93 ninja zx-6) and we are looking for people who want to ride. We live 80 miles outside so cal near palmdale. also i was thinking of lowering it an inch in the back because when i sit back i down have my feet flat on the ground like i want. but i seen that it looks to be a pain in the *** to lower it. any advice if not i wont worry about it. it does not bother me that bad. This is a cool forum and thanks for the knowledge you guys have giving me in buying, maintaining, and performance for my new hobby. My old hobby was ricing out a Honda to hell and back.

Welcome to the boards. Congrats on your new bikes. If you haven't taken it yet, sign up for a local MSF class. Definatly don't lower your bike. It will change the handeling of the bike. They are designed to perform best at a certain height by Honda. Any changes in that affects the handeling. Try wearing shoes with a thicker soul or shaving some foam off the underside of the seat if needed.
