Default New to Honda and Forum

Hey, my name's Mike. I'll be picking up a 2002 F4i on thursday. I'm new to Honda's streetbikes. I use to ride a Buell xb9r until I decided it was a good idea to slide off the road one day 3 years ago. But I needed a new bike so I found one. I'll be rebuilding it. The previous owner had it for 3 months and crashed it pretty good. Needs new wheels, fairings, windscreen, and a bunch of other things. But I hope to have it out on the street within a month.

I hope you guys will be able to help me out with any odd questions I have along the way.

welcome to CBRF.

good luck on the rebuild, and if you are looking for answers just post up in the F4i section. those questions will be answered the best in there.

Welcome, I'm also Mike and also just picked up an 02 F4i! Good luck with the rebuild, make sure the frame and forks are good and straight since the wheels were damaged.

I went over the bike for almost an hour before I bought it. The frame is perfect. Used my trusty measuring tools. Welds are not cracked at all. the guy says he hit a pot hole. The forks look alright but I don't trust them since the front wheel is dented a bit (not enough to lose the air in the tire though). I plan on stripping the whole bike down and painting the frame, swingarm, and forks a desert tan color and hydro transfering the new fairings in a desert digital camo. We'll see how it looks when it's done.
