Default New guy here. Buying CBR600, is this a good price?

Hey everyone!
My name is Dan and a buddy of mine just wrecked his 2000 CBR 600. The day he bought it, the previous owner laid it down on the right side. So my friend got some money off the price. Then a week later my buddy laid it down on the left side. Here is the damage as far as I know, I haven't seen the bike since the second wreck because it is in impound, because my buddy was injured and rushed to the hospital.

Both the left and right fairings are scratched and/or cracked.
Both front blinkers are broken
Both mirrors are broken
Right front foot peg is broke off, plus the shaft that the rear brake lever pivots on is broke.
Pipe, muffler and case is scratched.

That is it for damage as far as I know. The only other thing wrong with the bike is that it won't stay in second gear, it pops back into nuetral.

The title is still good. The bike runs, there is no mechanical damage other than listed above.

He said I can have it for $500 plus the impound fees which are around $400.

It is a 2000 CBR 600

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am new to Hondas and I'm not sure what they go for used. I've always been an R6 guy.

Thanks,
Dan

So if its a 2000 its an F4 correct?

$900
+$550 for fairings on ebay already painted
+$30 for blinkers
+$35 for mirrors
+$25 for new foot pegs
+$250 for slip on
---------------
= roughly 1800, not to bad for a F4

I'm not sure about the part about the brake lever though.

I'm looking for a bike to strip down for stunting, if you don't want it I'll help your buddy out. All the fairings would be coming off anyways.

yeah..it seems like a reasonable deal but double check the frame and forks to make sure it didnt sustain any damage.....

the rest can be bought easily on CL or ebaying
