Default Buying a 2000 CBR600 F4 for $2900. Fair price?

2000 CBR 600 F4

Orig. Owner (nice guy, kept it nice, no damage)
Comes w/ Lock, Shoei Helmet, & cover

Has a carbon covered aftermarket exhaust
and it has been "jetted"

Recent new battery and new rear tire
14k miles.

$2900

I've only had a cruiser, but this was a fun ride...
All the power I need....

I'm gonna go for it...
What do you guys think?

Thats a very good price actually you would pay that much for a 96 cbr 600f3 I would jump on the deal but make sure there is no frame damage,it has a clear title, and nothing is wronge with the engine or transmission....good luck!!

no frame damage,

and nothing is wronge with the engine or transmission

Orig owner says never crashed.
He didn't have much trouble starting it up in 25 degree weather,
after being in storage all winter.

I rode it around the block. Shifted fine..

How can I tell if enging or tranny is bad?

If anything were wronge with the tranny you would usally be able to tell instantly while riding...as far as the engine you would be able to hear it ....if there were a vavle tap you would hear a tap but a tap might also be a cam chain tensioner which is very minor to fix if you have ridden it and it runs and drives well I would buy it
