There's only one thing about the MSF BRC (class 1 is tomorrow for me): In Pennsylvania the Helmet Law is you do not have to wear a helmet if 1) you are over 21 and either A) Have held a motorcycle license (not permit) for 1+ years or B) Have sucessfully completed any MSF course
That's funny. I think that may be a little out of date, though...
I think now they require helmets no matter what. (Even in the ERC course). Most likely a liability issue, but helmets are a good idea anyway.

Sweet. Yet msf does give you your licenses there correct? This is the reason why I took it so I get it that weekend on the spot. I am right on this right?
Krux, you should get a card saying that you completed MSF. Then, I think you just take that to the DMV to get your license.

Ya that's what I thought about the card deal. With this they did say you have to have full gear on which kind of sucks but what ever haha. I ride with full gear on as it is.

Oh during the field exercises, they require and provide a helmet (though you need to bring goggles). It's just that here in PA, taking the course is one way so that wearing a helmet isn't required after getting your license.

Went thru the first class tonight (almost slept thru it), which was basic motorcycle operation. Gotta admit Saturday scares me a lot. Not that the little Rebel they'll provide will give me any trouble but because...

In a class of 24 ppl, myself and a guy 65+ were the only actual motorcycle owners. And 90% of the class couldn't identify the basic controls (some not even the throttle). The "deer caught in headlights" looks when shifting was explained were hilarious

Next question. Has anybody ever seen my color of my bike or know that color? It changes as you walk around it from a green hint to a blue. With this I just want to find touch up paint out there for this and clean up a bit. I love the color.

Thanks

Hay man, just because a the law tells you don't have to wear a helmet, Please still do. The price of looking cool for 2 seconds can be you brain all over someones hood.

Just my .02c

No worries. I asked the instructor about that and he just shrugged and asked "Do you own a helmet?" Just something a bit odd I felt.
