The MSF course is a course that the Motorcycle Safety Foundation sponsors as an alternative to taking the regular skills test. It's just a course that teaches you some good riding skills and allows you to earn your license through taking the course. They provide bikes and everything in most cases (I think).
Here is a link to MSF. Motorcycle Safety Foundation[/quote]

x2 on the MSF course. Very comprehensive in both classroom and on-the-bike training. I took mine 3 years ago and just got my bike last month. Even after 3 years it was amazing how much of their training stayed with me. There were even some experienced riders in my class brushing up on their knowledge and skills.

Have fun and ride safe!

You're right, the MSF is a great resource. I'm glad it's around.

Wow! I used to have a 99 si also.
Nice cars. I have a 1990, though (not a typo..lol..). It's when the Si was a hatch, and they had the CRX Si.

Thanks for the info guys. I was messing around on the course today just seeing how hard it was. Mostly everything was easy except for the cones and two 90 degrees turns at one time. Nice car btw on the civic.

Here is the old girl.
Very nice, flip. One of my good friends in high school had the exact same one (different wheels, though). He bought it new in '99. It was his first new car.
Bad part was that he wrecked it on chrismas eve of 2004. Good news was that it was fixable.
More bad news was that he wrecked it again the following christmas eve...lol... same road, same turn. This time he totaled it...

Here is a pic of mine as she sits. I just laid some 2k primer today. (man, that was a lot of body work and sanding... 12yrs with me and 212k miles will put a hurtin' on a car...lol)
I left the steelies on for paint, but I have a set of the stock Si wheels that came on the 1999
I also have some new headlights and tail lights, etc. I chose this body kit because it's the only one that doesn't look "ricy" so to speak.
It's a urethane WW Racing Series kit.
I like my cars clean, and subtle.
I know it's not much...just a b16 powered old Si, but it's my first car.... and we've been through quite a bit... so she's getting restored...

That's exactly what I did. I did it at the state parking lot course. Over and over... until I could do anything easily. Practice is the key.... smaller bikes help. Much harder on my 550lb 1000F than my KLR650....

Ya I signed up for the MSF Class today. I think this will provide me a better over all standing of bikes and how to work with it. Ive also heard it is much easier as well too. I hope to do well in the class. So far Over 500 miles I have ridden on the CBR and loving it. Next is a clutch when I get a chance. I wounder if there hard on this bike?

Good deal, man. Glad you got signed up. You shouldn't have a problem with the class at all. Just try to soak up some good info. That's what it's there for.

As far as the clutch, search around the forum for some info on it. Not too hard at all. You should be able to find a manual around, too....
Maybe here?

There's only one thing about the MSF BRC (class 1 is tomorrow for me): In Pennsylvania the Helmet Law is you do not have to wear a helmet if 1) you are over 21 and either A) Have held a motorcycle license (not permit) for 1+ years or B) Have sucessfully completed any MSF course

Sweet. Yet msf does give you your licenses there correct? This is the reason why I took it so I get it that weekend on the spot. I am right on this right?

When I lived in Mankato, MN I just took a class and got my license, but that was a few years ago.

They gave me a cert that I took to the DMV and they issued it there.
